University Counselling & Guidance
We guide, support, inform, and advise our students and their parents throughout the university admissions process for colleges and universities worldwide.
As students progress through our secondary school program, from grades 10 to 12, our faculty meet with students and their parents to prepare and plan a detailed schedule that reflects their personalized post-secondary ambitions.
University Counselling - What we do
University preparation is an important part of our high school program. At CISP, this support is integrated into the British Columbia curriculum through Career-Life Education (CLE) and Career-Life Connections (CLC) and is provided to all of our high school students.
Beginning in Grade 10, we work individually with students to help them explore university and career options, understand admission requirements in different countries, select the appropriate high school courses and prepare their university applications.
Our university guidance includes:
- Individual meetings and university planning
- Researching universities and programs
- Understanding admission requirements in different countries
- Grade 10–12 course planning
- Guidance throughout the university application process
- Career and post-secondary planning through CLE and CLC
- Support in identifying volunteer and community opportunities
- Regular communication with students and their families
We believe families should be involved in this process. Each September, the school holds a university orientation for students and parents to explain the application process, important deadlines and the different university pathways available.
Admission requirements vary considerably between universities, programs and countries. For this reason, we encourage students and families to begin planning early.
University counselling at CISP is not an additional service. It is part of our high school program.
